These days I'm mostly writing about things relating to transgender and Leather.

Bio
This blog is a place for me to write about my opinions on and experiences regarding sexuality in a public manner, separate from my "vanilla" identity -- in other words, in a place where my family and future employers won't be able to find it. This blog is public so that those people who stumble across it may have the opportunity to learn something from me.

"Panthera sapien" is a combination of the scientific names for leopards - "panthera pardus" - and humans - "homo sapiens." I have a strong personal identification with leopards -- I feel a part of myself is leopard, and because I am also human I feel that "panthera sapien" is a good name for my species, if you could call it that. A human-leopard hybrid. Hopefully this name will be easy for those people who know my leopard side to remember.

I started to get involved in the BDSM community in Dallas a year and a half or so ago -- fall '06. At this point I've learned a lot about BDSM and am trying to get a grasp on what "Leather" is and find my niche. I'm looking for people to learn from and to befriend.

I recognize that at my age and at this point in my exploration of BDSM who I am and how I identify myself is highly mutable, but here is a very basic breakdown of how I currently identify:
sexual orientation: pansexual but more interested in the masculine side of things
gender: androgyne, FtM
D/s: switch, puppy, boy
s/m: switch
seeking: mentors, training with a dominant (male or female, and I currently have a prospect), other pups to play with, submissive male play partner.

A note on pronouns: When I write, I often use male pronouns when the gender of the person or people of which I am writing has not been specified. I view that as proper grammar. Sometimes I will use gender-neutral pronouns like "ze" and "zis." Pronouns in refernece to me: I accept both male and female pronouns. If there were a common set of gender neutral pronouns, that is what I would request. Male pronouns are closer to matching my gender, but female pronouns suit my body, and I accept them, as most of my friends have seen me mostly naked and so have no doubt that I am biologically female.

Edit: I started testosterone on Feb.4, 2008. :-)
